After flying high against the Oakwood Eagles last Tuesday, the Faith Christian Patriots came back down to earth. Faith Christian was outmatched by Harrells Christian Academy on the road and fell 81-50. Faith Christian has not had much luck with Harrells Christian Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Despite the loss, Faith Christian saw an underclassman step up: Bennie Griffin scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Grant, who scored ten points.
Harrells Christian Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Antonio McKoy, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds. McKoy has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. Dashaun Mckoy was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds.
Faith Christian's loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Harrells Christian Academy, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Faith Christian will take on Fayetteville Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Fayetteville Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven matches. As for Harrells Christian Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Oakwood at 6:45 p.m. Oakwood is no doubt hoping to put an end to an 11-game streak of away losses.
