Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Evangel Christian). They walked away with a 62-55 victory over the Pineview Christian Warriors on Monday.
Evangel Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Asa Wagoner, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 18 points and seven boards. Wagoner continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Bugnar, who went 6 for 15 on his way to 15 points and eight boards.
Evangel Christian's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Pineview Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Evangel Christian won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Tuscaloosa Home Educators at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pineview Christian, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on First Assembly Christian at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th.
