Basketball Recap: Monday's Victory Is First Baptist's Tenth in Last 11 Outings

First Baptist won the last time they faced Liberty Christian, and Lydia Wynja did her part to make sure it happened again. The First Baptist Crusaders simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat the Liberty Christian Eagles 44-9 thanks in part to Wynja, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 14 boards. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of First Baptist's points.

Jada McKinney was another key player, putting up three points and three steals. What's more, she also posted a 50% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's posted since back in December of 2024.

First Baptist is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.6 points over those games. As for Liberty Christian, they now have a losing record at 1-2.

Looking ahead, First Baptist won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Fourth Baptist Christian at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. First Baptist's defense has only allowed 27.3 points per game this season, so Fourth Baptist Christian's offense will have their work cut out for them. Liberty Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
