The Reagan Rattlers will head out on the road to challenge the Johnson Jaguars at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Johnson took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Reagan, who comes in off a win.
Reagan posted their closest win since November 20, 2023 on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged Madison out 47-44. Given Reagan's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 258th, while the Mavericks are ranked 571st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Renata Parga had an outrageously good game as she dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Sahara Green was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five assists.
Meanwhile, Johnson's game on Tuesday was all tied up 26-26 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell 58-47 to Clark. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Johnson in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now lost seven in a row.
Reagan's victory bumped their record up to 19-15. As for Johnson, their loss dropped their record down to 17-16.
Reagan opened the new year with a less-than-successful 43-31 defeat to the Jaguars. Can Reagan avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
