The Idabel Warriors pushed their score all the way to 55 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Oklahoma City S by a score of 57-55. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Idabel came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while Oklahoma City S is ranked 235th).
Oklahoma City S found their leader in underclassman Akeilius Patterson, who scored 22 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Patterson has scored all season. Rylen Sykes was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with two steals.
Idabel's defeat dropped their record down to 15-3. As for Oklahoma City S, their victory bumped their record up to 7-17.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Idabel won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Stilwell at 4:30 p.m. on January 27th. As for Oklahoma City S, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sunrise Christian Academy Silver at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
