Noxubee County has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the St. Stanislaus Rock-a-Chaws at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Noxubee County's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last six matchups.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Noxubee County had no problem doing just that on Friday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 35-6 victory over South Pike. Considering Noxubee County has won six matches by more than 24 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Kamario Taylor was his usual excellent self, throwing for 250 yards and four touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Taylor is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dequadrion Welch, who picked up 102 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, St. Stanislaus came tearing into Friday's match with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 23-20 victory over Crystal Springs.
Ian Gael gonz?lez rioz continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 185 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries, while also throwing for 128 yards and a touchdown while completing 78.6% of his passes.
Noxubee County has yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 7-4 record. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.8 points per game. As for St. Stanislaus, their victory bumped their record up to 9-1.
Noxubee County took their win against St. Stanislaus in their previous matchup back in December of 2015 by a conclusive 44-23. Will Noxubee County repeat their success, or does St. Stanislaus have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
