After flying high against the Southwind Jaguars last Friday, the Germantown Red Devils came back down to earth. Germantown took a serious blow against the Mustangs on Wednesday, falling 69-24. Germantown has not had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Houston's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Anna lee Avery, who scored 21 points along with five steals. Avery hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Amani Lipscomb, who scored 15 points along with six assists and two steals.
Germantown has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season. As for Houston, their victory bumped their record up to 14-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Germantown will square off against the Wildcats at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Houston, they will head out on the road to take on the Dragons at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Collierville is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
