The Litchfield Purple Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by Father McGivney Catholic 64-11. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Litchfield has scored all season.
Litchfield's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Chloe Law, who scored six points, and Amanda Sypherd who scored a point along with four steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Litchfield struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Father McGivney Catholic's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Natalie Beck led the charge by scoring 17 points along with three steals. Beck continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Johnson, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Litchfield bumped their record down to 3-19 with that loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Father McGivney Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Litchfield will square off against Non Varsity Opponent at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Father McGivney Catholic will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Marquette Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on January 29th.
