The biggest upset of the week belonged to Savannah, who took down 295th ranked Johnson, 26-20. Jovante Spivey threw for 170 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 100 yards in the win.
Pierce County extended the longest winning streak in AAA Region 1 this week by beating Southeast Bulloch, 33-7. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
Trey Dillard was the best wideout in the league this week as the Bluejackets bested the Atomsmashers. Dillard racked up two receptions for 59 yards. Shakir Chisholm helped Savannah's passing attack out by catching two balls for 47 yards.
Shyheim Roberts was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 111 yards on 18 carries as Johnson beat Johnson. Teammate Corbin Mitchell added to the ground attack by rushing for 96 yards.
Savannah's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bluejackets feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Spivey has thrown for 803 yards and five touchdowns this season, while Jermaine Williams has nine catches for 282 yards. Dillard leads the league in rushing with 587 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Pierce County takes on the Atomsmashers. The Bears are currently in first, while Johnson is in sixth.
The Yellowjackets moved up to 358 from 386 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Southeast Bulloch climbed the ranks as a result of falling to Pierce County 33-7.
