Lytle won the last time they faced Cotulla and Chase Guevara did his part to make sure it happened again. The Pirates greeted the New Year with with an 88-70 victory over the Cowboys with plenty of help from Guevara, who almost dropped a double-double with 36 points and nine rebounds. Lytle is undefeated when Guevara posts 20 or more points, but 8-9 otherwise.

Lytle's win bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Cotulla, their defeat was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 6-13.

Lytle didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 75-64 victory against Hondo on the 6th. Cotulla has also already played their next contest (against Jourdanton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
