The Basha Bears will square off against the O'Connor Eagles at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Basha 3.9, O'Connor 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Basha is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Sunnyslope get on the board and left with a 9-0 victory last Thursday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Bears with their most commanding win of the season.
David Richter tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Paxton Koch and Clayton Cooper did most of the damage at the plate: Koch went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double, while Cooper got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Those two runs gave Cooper a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Chanley, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, O'Connor had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Jaguars. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted against the Jaguars since March 31, 2022.
O'Connor let James Carr and Tommy Pascanu run wild. Carr went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI, while Pascanu scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Hunter Day, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
O'Connor pushed their record up to 11-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Basha, they now have a winning record of 5-4-1.
Basha came up short against O'Connor in their previous matchup back in April of 2022, falling 6-1. Can Basha avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
