Burns waltzed into their match on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Bessemer City Yellow Jackets a 21-0 shutout. Considering the Bulldogs have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Burns pushed their record up to 13-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for Bessemer City, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-8.

Coming up, Burns will square off against East Gaston at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Burns' pitchers better be ready for this one: East Gaston has averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season.
