Brown County extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 12 on Monday, dropping their season record down to 0-6 in the process. They came up short against the Bloomfield Cardinals, falling 13-5. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 10-1 to the Cardinals when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Jade Woolems was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Mason Hazelgrove also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
As for Bloomfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games.
On Bloomfield's side, Ethan Davis and Dillon Warnick made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Davis tossed two innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. Meanwhile, Warnick pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Bloomfield is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 2-4 otherwise. At the plate, Davis went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base, while Warnick went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aiden Scott, who went 2-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Casey Porter, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brown County will challenge Edgewood at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bloomfield, they will face off against South Knox at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in the Cardinals' favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while the Spartans have been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road.
