Katy is 9-0 against Seven Lakes since October of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Katy Tigers will look to defend their home field against the Seven Lakes Spartans at 7:15 p.m. Katy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 337 points over their last eight contests.
Katy put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season last Thursday. They really took it to Cinco Ranch for the full four quarters, racking up a 42-13 victory on the road. Given Katy's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 35th, while Cinco Ranch is ranked 312th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Katy found their leader in underclassman Tremayne Hill, who rushed for 170 yards and two touchdowns. Hill hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Johnsey, who rushed for 53 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Seven Lakes' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 35-11 walloping at the hands of Paetow. Seven Lakes was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 21-0.
Katy's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 44.8 points per game. As for Seven Lakes, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
Everything came up roses for Katy against Seven Lakes in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 59-0 victory. Does Katy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Seven Lakes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
