Meanwhile, Calloway County had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Trigg County 68-29 on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-14.
Calloway County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sayler Lowe, who scored 17 points along with 5 rebounds. Jaidan Koch was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with 5 rebounds.
Lyon County's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Calloway County, their win bumped their record up to an identical 1-0.
Lyon County was taken down by Calloway County 80-47 in their previous meeting back in February. Can Lyon County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
