The Salem Generals kicked off their season on the road on Saturday and hit a couple of potholes. They were outmatched by Canajoharie on the road and fell 58-29.
Several Generals players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Blaise Barrett, who scored 8 points along with 6 steals and 5 rebounds. Josh Harrington was another key contributor, scoring 10 points along with 6 rebounds.
Salem's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Canajoharie, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Salem will take on Argyle at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Canajoharie, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Fort Plain at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Fort Plain focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 last Saturday.
