The M.L. King Lions pushed their score all the way to 56 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 57-56 to Tucker. While losing is never fun, M.L. King can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while Tucker is ranked 17th).
M.L. King lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kennedy Ruzvidzo jr., who scored 14 points along with three steals. Ruzvidzo jr. hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Brown, who scored 12 points.
M.L. King's defeat dropped their record down to 14-5. As for Tucker, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. M.L. King will take on Lithonia at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tucker, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Arabia Mountain at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Arabia Mountain knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully Tucker likes a good challenge.
