The East Alton-Wood River Oilers had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Mt. Olive by a score of 69-57 on Tuesday. The victory was just what East Alton-Wood River needed coming off of a 68-29 loss in their prior match.
Despite the loss, Mt. Olive still got an impressive performance from Briley Viviano, who scored 23 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Viviano has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Dexter Frizzo, who scored 14 points.
East Alton-Wood River's victory ended a 11-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-24. As for Mt. Olive, they dropped their record down to 3-21 with that defeat, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Alton-Wood River will face off against Salem at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Salem focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 last Saturday. As for Mt. Olive, they will head out on the road to challenge Lutheran at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Mt.
