Pittsfield is a perfect 3-0 against Lenox Memorial since May of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Generals will look to defend their home field against the Millionaires at 4:00 p.m. Pittsfield has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with three straight losses, while Lenox Memorial will come in with five straight victories.
Pittsfield had taken Hampshire Regional down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Wednesday. The Generals came up short against the Raiders, falling 14-2.
Mia Dejesus put in work no matter where she played. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-low in walks (zero). She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that she has brought in this season.
Dejesus wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Paxton Ebling, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Another was Cecilia Centeno, who got on base in both of her plate appearances with two stolen bases.
Meanwhile, Lenox Memorial got the win against McCann Tech on Saturday by a conclusive 8-1. Fans of the Millionaires have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.
Like Pittsfield, Lenox Memorial also got a great game from a two-way player: Evelyn Julieano. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off eight hits. Julieano has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four stolen bases and three runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hailey Armold, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Armold is also crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Amaya Alger was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
Lenox Memorial pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Pittsfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
Pittsfield took their win against Lenox Memorial in their previous meeting back in May of 2018 by a conclusive 7-1 score. Will the Generals repeat their success, or do the Millionaires have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
