Springfield is 10-0 against Lowellville since December of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Springfield Tigers will look to defend their home court against the Lowellville Rockets at 6:15 p.m. Hopefully Springfield is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lowellville in Ohio (Springfield is ranked 262nd, while Lowellville is ranked 525th).
On Monday, Springfield escaped with a win against Western Reserve by the margin of a single free throw, 42-41. The win made it back-to-back wins for Springfield.
Springfield's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jameka Brungard led the charge by dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Brungard has scored at least 25% of Springfield's points. Another player making a difference was Karigan Mullen, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Lowellville was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 35-31 to McDonald.
Springfield has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. As for Lowellville, their loss was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-3.
Everything went Springfield's way against Lowellville in their previous meeting back in January as Springfield made off with a 62-39 win. Will Springfield repeat their success, or does Lowellville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
