The Marquez Gladiators can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent game on Monday. They really took it to Elizabeth for the full four quarters, racking up a 84-43 win on the road. Given Marquez's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 428th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 1208th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Marquez to victory, but perhaps none more so than Anthony Ford, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Lamont White Jr, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Marquez's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-7. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 82.5 points per game. As for Elizabeth, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.
Marquez will be playing at home against the Wolves at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Sotomayor's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six matchups. As for Elizabeth, they will head out on the road to challenge the Toros at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
