The Londonderry Lancers will head out to challenge the Pinkerton Astros at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Londonderry comes in on three and Pinkerton on 20.
Pinkerton's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Friday: Londonderry hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. Everything went the Lancers' way against Manchester Memorial on Thursday as they made off with a 7-0 victory. The Lancers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by seven runs or more this season.

Londonderry let Zach Mantegari and Jet Jones run wild. Mantegari went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Jones went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one double, and one RBI. Those three hits gave Jones a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brett Mckinnon, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
Pinkerton came out on top against Winnacunnet on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run sixth inning. The Astros walked away with an 8-3 win over the Warriors.
Leo Boucher made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Boucher was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brendan Home, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.
Pinkerton pushed their record up to 9-0 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Londonderry, their record now sits at 12-2-1.
Friday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Londonderry hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .325. However, it's not like Pinkerton struggles in that department as they've averaged .336. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Londonderry skirted past Pinkerton 4-2 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lancers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
