The Summit Tigers will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Northfield Nighthawks at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Summit is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.7 runs per game this season.
On Tuesday, Summit earned an 8-3 win over Glenwood Springs.

Jonathan Gambino made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Summit is undefeated when Gambino allows one or fewer earned runs, but 2-3-1 otherwise. Gambino was even better at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Jayce Rainey was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Hogan Tobias, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
Summit always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .590. The last time their OBP was this high was back in May of 2025.
Meanwhile, Northfield entered their tilt with George Washington on Tuesday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They blew past the Patriots 12-2. The result was nothing new for the Nighthawks, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Adler Hickey looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits.
On the hitting side, Jacob Lawson was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Peter Worth, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Summit's victory bumped their record up to 5-3-1. As for Northfield, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.
Summit suffered a grim 12-2 defeat to Northfield when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
