Basketball Recap: York Country Day's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Nine

York Country Day put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 62-25 win over the Dayspring Christian Academy Warriors. York Country Day has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 28 points or more this season.

York Country Day's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Briason Kennedy, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 13 points and three steals. Kennedy continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Elijah Slaughter, who went 5 for 8 en route to 12 points.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Gabe Mellinger, who posted ten points and seven rebounds. Preston Kauffman was another key player, putting up eight points.

York Country Day's victory bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Dayspring Christian Academy, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-4.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Mount Calvary Christian the next time they take the court. York Country Day will host Mount Calvary Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Dayspring Christian Academy will host them at 7:30 p.m. on January 21st.
