The Franklin Monroe Jets scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 43-41 victory over Preble Shawnee. This was payback for Franklin Monroe, who suffered a 50-36 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Several Arrows players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ashleigh Mondello-garrett, who scored five points along with 12 rebounds and four steals. Those 12 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Autumn Smith, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
The victory got Franklin Monroe back to even at 4-4. As for Preble Shawnee, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Franklin Monroe is on the road again on Saturday and play against Jonathan Alder at 1:00 p.m. on December 23rd. Jonathan Alder will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Preble Shawnee will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Oakwood at 12:00 p.m. on December 30th. Oakwood presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Preble Shawnee in Ohio (Oakwood is ranked 345th, while Preble Shawnee is ranked 762nd).
