The Walker Wolverines will be playing at home against the South Atlanta Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Walker has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 654 points over their last ten matchups.
Even though Mount Paran Christian scored an imposing 65 points on Tuesday, Walker still came out on top. Walker walked away with a 72-65 victory over the Eagles.
Walker's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Moustapha Diop, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 17 rebounds. Diop is crushing the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Pederson, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, South Atlanta had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They came out on top against Therrell by a score of 64-56. Given South Atlanta's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 158th, while the Panthers are ranked 392nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Walker is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. As for South Atlanta, their win bumped their record up to 17-6.
