On Friday, the Fort Yukon Eagles faced the Walter Northway Warriors in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Fort Yukon snuck past Walter Northway with a 49-44 win. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Fort Yukon has scored all season.
Fort Yukon found their leader in underclassman Kylee Carroll, who scored 24 points. Another player making a difference was Twila Strom, who scored 11 points.
The victory for Fort Yukon keeps them at an undefeated 6-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.3 points per game. As for Walter Northway, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.
Fort Yukon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Walter Northway also has no future games currently scheduled.
