It was a good run, but the Oakman Wildcats unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a hard 58-44 fall against Carbon Hill. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Oakman has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Oakman lost, one person who can't be blamed is Trenton Warren. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on ten points and 17 rebounds. The game was Warren's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Rick Johnson, who scored 11 points.
Oakman's loss dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Carbon Hill, they pushed their record up to 15-5 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home.
Oakman will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Fayette County at 7:30 p.m. on January 22nd. As for Carbon Hill, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Corner at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
