The Lincoln County Lynx have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 32 points or more this season. They took their match on the road on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 43-10 win over River Valley. Given Lincoln County's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 61st in Nevada, while River Valley is ranked 283rd in Arizona), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, River Valley saw an underclassman step up: Cherity Gonzalez scored eight points along with six rebounds. Those six rebounds set a new season-high mark for her.
The win makes it two in a row for Lincoln County and bumps their season record up to 5-6. As for River Valley, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
Lincoln County is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Varsity Opponent at 6:00 p.m. on December 19th. Varsity Opponent has now lost 16 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 12. River Valley won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Moapa Valley at 4:30 p.m. on December 20th. Hopefully Moapa Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Wednesday.
