Vidalia has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against The Oak Grove Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Vidalia didn't have too much trouble with Madison at home as they won 26-12. The victory was just what Vidalia needed coming off of a 43-14 defeat in their prior match.
Meanwhile, Oak Grove had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.8 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They blew past General Trass 49-12 at home. The result was nothing new for Oak Grove, who have now won six games by 30 points or more so far this season.
Jay Freeman was his usual excellent self, rushing for 160 yards and four touchdowns on only 14 carries, while also catching a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Jackson Bradley, who threw for 115 yards and a touchdown.
Vidalia's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Oak Grove, their win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-2.
Vidalia was dealt a bruising 49-12 loss at the hands of Oak Grove in their previous matchup back in November of 2022. Thankfully for Vidalia, Cory Jones (who rushed for 67 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
