Darlington breezed by Pepperell at home to the tune of 87-39. Given Darlington's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 13th, while Pepperell is ranked 254th), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Pepperell's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Eliot Goggans, who scored 11 points along with 6 rebounds. Goggans scored a full 28.2% of Pepperell's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyson Robbins, who scored 7 points.
Darlington's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points per game. As for Pepperell, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.
Darlington will head out on the road to face off against Coosa at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Pepperell, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Armuchee at 7:30 p.m. Armuchee is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
