The Aurora West College Prep Academy Spartans will head out on the road to take on the DSST: College View Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Aurora West College Prep Academy is no doubt hoping to put an end to a nine-game streak of away losses.
On Monday, Aurora West College Prep Academy took a serious blow against the Spartans, falling 56-25. While losing is never fun, Aurora West College Prep Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 333rd, while the Spartans are ranked 165th).
Meanwhile, DSST: College View struggled with three-point shooting accuracy on Friday (the Hornets were 24% better) and sadly the final score reflected it. DSST: College View had to suffer through a rough 75-38 loss at the hands of the Hornets. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points DSST: College View has scored all season.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Joshua Sosa, who scored 11 points along with two steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Josue Tomita was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Aurora West College Prep Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for DSST: College View, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-6 record this season.
Aurora West College Prep Academy took their victory against the Wolves in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 72-48. The rematch might be a little tougher for Aurora West College Prep Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
