Nathan Finley and James Newton provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Frontenac. The longest such play in Southeast Kansas this season, the connection resulted in 77 yards.
Chanute moved up to 59 from 93 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Blue Comets were able to make move up by topping Girard 53-6.
Field Kindley's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Finley threw for 151 and two touchdowns and Newton had 77 yards receiving. On the ground Wesley Collins chipped in 108 yards. Darron Deffebaugh helped Field Kindley's passing attack out by catching two balls for 47 yards.
Hubert Thompson made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Golden Tornado beat the Raiders. The 5-foot-11 junior forced two fumbles.
Field Kindley's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Golden Tornado feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Finley has thrown for 981 yards and 13 touchdowns this season, while Newton has 21 catches for 650 yards. Collins leads the league in rushing with 1308 yards.
Chanute took down the Trojans 53-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
