Lehman Catholic hasn't had much luck against Riverside recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Cavaliers will venture away from home to take on the Pirates at 5:00 p.m. Lehman Catholic is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.
Lehman Catholic will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Bethel, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Cavaliers walked away with an 11-6 win over the Bees on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cavaliers.

Reese Hoskins made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off ten hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on LeahAnn Jones, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Lily Tobe also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Lehman Catholic kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Riverside didn't have quite enough to beat Catholic Central on Thursday and fell 12-11.
Like Lehman Catholic, Riverside also got a great game from a two-way player: Emilee Robinson. On the mound, she struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and 11 unearned) runs off nine hits. Robinson was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Karly Gilman made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Chloe Purtee, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Riverside's defeat dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Lehman Catholic, their record is now 6-11.
Lehman Catholic suffered a grim 14-1 defeat to Riverside in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Cavaliers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
