The Glen Allen Jaguars posted their closest win yet this season on Friday. They skirted past Deep Run 52-50. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Glen Allen.
Glen Allen found their leader in underclassman Faron Friend, who scored 24 points along with seven rebounds. Friend continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Brodey Harper was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Quentin Morgan, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and eight blocks. Morgan has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last ten times he's played. Another player making a difference was Steven Nerheim, who scored 15 points.
Glen Allen's win bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Deep Run, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.
Glen Allen will stay at home for another game and welcome Thomas Jefferson at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. As for Deep Run, they will head out on the road to take on Hanover at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Virginia (Hanover is ranked 162nd, while Deep Run is ranked 166th).
