Baseball Recap: Azle Christian Comes Up Short

Azle Christian blew Mercy Culture Prep out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Monday Mercy Culture Prep got their revenge. Azle Christian fell just short of Mercy Culture Prep by a score of 8-6. The Fighting Crusaders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Royals apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2022.

Grayson Smith made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. He has become a key player for Azle Christian: the team is 5-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-5 otherwise.

Azle Christian's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-7. As for Mercy Culture Prep, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-11-2.
