The Whitewater Whippets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Milwaukee Bradley Tech 76-44. While losing is never fun, Whitewater can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 361st, while Milwaukee Bradley Tech is ranked 111th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Milwaukee Bradley Tech to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jakari Smith, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. The game was Smith's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Jabari Lee was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Whitewater has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Milwaukee Bradley Tech, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-2.
Whitewater will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Brodhead at 7:00 p.m. on January 11, 2024. Milwaukee Bradley Tech won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Fall River at 6:00 p.m. on December 29th. Fall River knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight contests -- so hopefully Milwaukee Bradley Tech likes a good challenge.
