The Calhoun City Wildcats can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They claimed a resounding 60-29 victory over Bruce on the road. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 39-13.
Despite the defeat, Bruce saw an underclassman step up: Sutton Gore scored six points along with five steals.
Calhoun City's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-8. As for Bruce, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-11.
Calhoun City won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Independence at 1:00 p.m. on January 13th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Mississippi (Independence is ranked 126th, while Calhoun City is ranked 110th). As for Bruce, they will head out on the road to challenge Houlka at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Houlka focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 last Tuesday.
