Alden will look to defend their home turf on Friday against Fredonia/Brocton at 7:00 PM. The MaxPreps rankings say the odds are against Alden, but that can only make success all the sweeter.
Alden couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They suffered a grim 14-48 defeat to Hamburg last Friday. Alden were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 0-35.
Meanwhile, Fredonia/Brocton took care of business in their home opener. They took their game against Newfane 20-7. The score was all tied up at the break, but Fredonia/Brocton was the better team in the second half.
Fredonia/Brocton's victory lifted them to 1-0 while Alden's loss dropped them down to 0-1. We'll find out if Fredonia/Brocton can add another positive mark to their record or if Alden can shake off the defeat and take the spring out of Fredonia/Brocton's step.
