The Hondo Owls pushed their score all the way to 55 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 76-55 walloping at the hands of Burbank. It was the first time this season that Hondo let down their fans at home.
Zara'nique Nealy continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Burbank, scoring 25 points along with 8 assists and 8 steals. Nealy has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Makayla Carter, who scored 13 points along with 7 assists and 7 rebounds.
Hondo bumped their record down to 6-2 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Burbank, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-6.
Hondo will head out on the road to face off against Devine at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Burbank, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Brackenridge at 8:00 p.m.
