The Rehobeth Rebels will head out on the road to square off against the Poplar Springs Atomics at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Rehobeth pushed their score all the way to 56 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 70-56 bruising from Carroll. While losing is never fun, Rehobeth can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 271st, while Carroll is ranked 130th).
Meanwhile, Poplar Springs' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 54-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Malone.
Rehobeth's defeat dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Poplar Springs, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season.
Rehobeth strolled past Poplar Springs in their previous meeting last Thursday by a score of 60-45. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rehobeth since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
