David Atwood and Darshaun Ford provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Landmark Christian. The connection went for 60 yards, the longest such play in 2A District 4 this season.
Foundation Academy's dynamic duo of Alec Thompson and Ford proved tough for the Patriots to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Thompson threw for 150 yards and two touchdowns and Ford had 164 yards receiving. Denzel Irvin helped Foundation Academy's passing attack out by catching three balls for 42 yards.
Brandarius McElroy was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 111 yards on five carries as Agape Christian Academy fell to Landmark Christian. Teammate Anthony Honor added to the ground attack by rushing for 84 yards.
Foundation Academy's Thompson and Ford have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Thompson has thrown for 1020 yards this season, while Ford, a 5-foot-10 receiver, has 19 catches for 325 yards. Jeremiah Sams from Lake Mary Prep leads the league in rushing with 1454 yards.
A big matchup in 2A District 4 this week will be when the Griffins take on Orlando Christian Prep. Lake Mary Prep is currently in first, while the Warriors are in fifth.
The Saints led the league in scoring this week after putting up 48 points on Santa Fe Catholic. James Reese threw for 103 yards and one touchdown and ran for 50 yards in the win.
