HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. -
Swain County (Bryson City, N.C.) grabbed a lead in the first quarter and rode that momentum to a 35-20 win over
North Henderson (Hendersonville, N.C.).
The Maroon Devils scored 14 points in the first quarter. Swain County scored on a touchdown run by
Spencer McCoy and a
Blake Wright touchdown run.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by McCoy in the first quarter, SC led 21-14 at the half.
The Bryson City school grew its lead to 14 points entering the fourth quarter. The Maroon Devils scored once in the quarter on a touchdown run by
Ray Smith.
The win brought Swain County's winning streak to three games.
North Henderson (0-2) will play a non-conference game against Hendersonville next week, while Swain County (3-0) will take on Franklin also in a non-conference game.
