Section 6 B - South recap October 1, 2013
Alden extended the longest winning streak in Section 6 B - South this week by beating Depew, 28-7. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
East Aurora/Holland moved up to 362 from 421 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. East Aurora/Holland was able to move up by losing to Pioneer 6-3.
Alex Smythe provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Eden defeated Cardinal O'Hara.
Gage Austin put up the best numbers in passing as Dunkirk lost to Olean. He had a total of 4 completions for 32 yards.
Eden's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Raiders feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Nick Sarratori has thrown for 133 yards this season, while Jesse Vondell has 4 catches for 48 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Alden takes on second place Pioneer.
East Aurora/Holland made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 9,924 from 11,214. The improvement was largely due to a 6-3 victory over East Aurora/Holland last week.
