The Dutch Fork Silver Foxes extended their postseason success on Friday against the J.L. Mann Patriots. They pulled ahead with a 31-30 photo finish over the Patriots. The win was familiar territory for Dutch Fork who now have seven in a row.
Among those leading the charge was Trenton Lodge, who rushed for 96 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries. Lodge was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 54 yards.
When it comes to explaining why J.L. Mann lost, one person who can't be blamed is Mikel Mcclellan. Despite the final result, he picked up 196 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Dutch Fork's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.2 points per game. As for J.L. Mann, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-3.
Dutch Fork will square off against White Knoll at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. White Knoll will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line. J.L. Mann does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
