The Onalaska Hilltoppers will head out on the road to challenge the Caledonia Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Onalaska's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 11 games.
In what's become a running theme this season, Onalaska gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 88-56 win over Sparta on the road. Given Onalaska's advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 43rd, while Sparta is ranked 373rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, even though Cotter scored an imposing 57 points on Friday, Caledonia still came out on top. Caledonia beat Cotter by the very same score they won with last week: 70-57. Winning may never get old, but Caledonia sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Onalaska pushed their record up to 15-5 with that victory, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.5 points per game. As for Caledonia, their win bumped their record up to 16-5.
Everything came up roses for Onalaska against Caledonia when the teams last played back in December of 2022 as the team secured a 88-60 win. Does Onalaska have another victory up their sleeve, or will Caledonia turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
