The Seymour Indians will challenge the Routt Catholic Rockets at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Seymour is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over Augusta Southeastern.

Blake Schwartz was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Seymour is undefeated when Schwartz allows one or fewer earned runs, but 9-14 otherwise. Schwartz was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April.
Meanwhile, Routt Catholic never let their opponents score on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 13-0 margin over Quincy Notre Dame. The Rockets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 games by six runs or more this season.
Like Seymour, Routt Catholic also got a great game from a two-way player: Eli Olson. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Olson has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Jace Lautemann was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Talon Thompson was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Routt Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Quincy Notre Dame only posted an OBP of .273.
Routt Catholic has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-12 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Seymour, their record now sits at 12-14.
Seymour might still be hurting after the 15-3 defeat they got from Routt Catholic in their previous matchup back in May of 2023. Can the Indians avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
