The Estill County Engineers will head out to face off against the North Laurel Jaguars at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Estill County comes in on three and North Laurel on 13.

Bella Rice spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Callee Snowden, who went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Sydney Riddell was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Estill County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 10-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, North Laurel was able to grind out a solid victory over Mercer County on Saturday, taking the game 10-5.
Emma Carl was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Carl was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
In other batting news, Katie Sams was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Saige McClure, who went 1-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double.
North Laurel pushed their record up to 25-1-1 with the win, which was their 15th straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Estill County, their record is now 15-8.
Both Estill County and North Laurel just can't seem to miss. The Engineers have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.2 hits per game. However, it's not like North Laurel struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.3 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Estill County came out on top in a nail-biter against North Laurel when the teams last played back in March of 2023, sneaking past 6-5. Do the Engineers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Jaguars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
