DePue has been on the road for four straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the LaMoille Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. LaMoille took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on DePue, who comes in off a win.
Last Saturday, DePue was able to grind out a solid victory over Calvary Christian Academy, taking the game 44-35.
DePue's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Vance Hayes, who scored 13 points, and Pancho Moreno, who scored 14 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Moreno has scored at least 25% of DePue's points. Luis Lopez was another key contributor, scoring 7 points.
Meanwhile, LaMoille came up short against Alden-Hebron on Monday and fell 38-31.
Brayden Klein put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 17 points along with 4 steals. The game was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Eddie Frye, who scored 6 points along with 8 rebounds and 4 blocks.
The victory got DePue back to even at 2-2. As for LaMoille, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Friday's game is shaping up to be a scrappy game: DePue haven't given up the ball easily this season, having only averaged 0 turnovers per game. It's a different story for LaMoille, though, as they've been averaging 19.8 per game. Given DePue's sizeable advantage in that area, LaMoille will need to find a way to close that gap.
