The Canton Bulldogs will square off against the King Philip Regional Warriors at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
Canton is headed into the matchup having just suffered their closest loss since May 23, 2024 on Monday. They fell just short of Mansfield by a score of 3-1. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Hornets recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Chris Pirrera
Chris Pirrera was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Canton is 4-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 3-4-1 otherwise.
Meanwhile, while King Philip Regional put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Stoughton. The Warriors put the hurt on the Black Knights with a sharp 6-0 victory. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by six runs or more this season.
Not much got past Ryan Higgins, who gave up just four hits and racked up six Ks to keep Stoughton off the board. Higgins has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Johnny Prater, who earned one RBI, one run, and two stolen bases. Another player making a difference was Tommy Gately, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
King Philip Regional pushed their record up to 12-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Canton, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Canton has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like King Philip Regional struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Canton suffered a grim 12-1 defeat to King Philip Regional when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Bulldogs have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
